Caring for your Wood Wick Candle
Wooden wicks burn a little differently than traditional cotton wicks so here’s our top tips to get the very best performance from your candle.
The 1st Burn - Ensure you give your candle enough burning time to achieve a full melt pool that goes all the way to the edge of the vessel - This can take 2 hours or more.
Trimming Your Wick - Always trim your candle when cool and before each burn. Keep your wooden wick trimmed to 4-5mm and free of any charred remnants, simply use your fingers using a gentle pinch action to remove any loose burnt wood. Avoid using wick trimmers or nail clippers as you may trim too much off. Only use these tools if your wick has become larger than the required height.
Burn Times - To preserve longevity of the fragrance in your candle burn for 2 to 4 hour increments. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
Leftovers - For your safety, wooden wicks are securely fixed to the base of your vessel using a metal sustainer. This ensures your candle is self extinguished at a safe distance from the bottom of the container. To make the most of any leftover wax why not pop it in a wax melter/warmer.
